Job Description

Design secure cloud architecture
Build systems so attackers have a miserable time trying to break in.
Identity & Access Management (IAM)
Control who can access what. Because giving everyone admin access is apparently still a popular hobby in many companies.
Monitor threats and vulnerabilities
Use security tools to detect suspicious activity.
Implement encryption
Protect data both in transit and at rest.
Compliance & governance
Make sure systems follow regulations like HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.
Incident response
When something goes wrong, figure out what happened and contain it quickly.
